Election Update: Colorado Shows Up Strong—We’re Not Backing Down!

Colorado workers showed up strong, and together, we made sure our voices were heard and values realized loud and clear across the state. Because of your tireless efforts, we held and expanded pro-worker majorities in both the Colorado House and Senate. These wins mean we’re ready to fight for and pass legislation that makes it easier for Colorado workers to organize and form unions—because we know that a union job is a pathway to dignity, respect, and a fair shot at prosperity.

We knocked on doors, made calls, and got out the vote in a massive way, reaching over 40,000 voters across four states during this election. Every one of those conversations mattered, and they’re part of a bigger story. This election wasn’t just about candidates; it was about building a future where workers’ rights are front and center. Your work here at home is a shining example of what it means to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, and push for change that benefits working people.

While the national results didn’t turn out as we hoped, our fight is far from over. SEIU President April Verrett said it best: “We are not defeated; we are determined. We won’t back down.” Our work in Colorado proves that when we unite, we’re unstoppable. Now, we’re putting every corporation and extremist politician on notice: we see you, and we won’t stand by while you try to divide us or strip away our rights. We will continue to fight for ALL working people, women, our immigrant siblings and a future for all of our children.

This fight won’t be easy and we all need to step up to the challenges that face us.  We need to organize in our workplaces and communities.  We need to come together and show our strength in numbers. We need to demand that the politicians we work so hard to elect respond to our needs and actually change our lives for the better.  We have a choice to make, will we sit on the sidelines or will we stand up and lead?

Our victories this year have set the stage for what’s next. With our pro-worker majorities, we’re in a position to fight for and win the changes we need to make it easier for every Coloradan to join a union, earn a fair wage, and have a safe workplace. This isn’t just talk—this is our commitment to each other, and to the future we’re building together.

Thank you for your hard work, resilience, and belief in our collective power. We’re ready to keep pushing, keep fighting, and keep winning—no matter what they throw at us.

Together, we’re unbreakable. Si se puede!

In Solidarity,
