Colorado’s Democratic legislature is passing a bill to make worker organizations more feasible. But will the Democratic governor sign it?
Colorado is the only state in the U.S. that has to vote TWICE to form a union. As you know, we are currently trying to fix that with the Worker Protection Act.
Democratic leaders in the House and Senate are standing with workers in favor of this bill, but our democratic Governor, Jared Polis, stands alone and has yet made a commitment to protecting workers.
Read more in American Prospect about the pressing need for more Democrats to stand with workers in Colorado!

At the HandsOff rally in Denver last week, Colorado workers & organizers called out Governor Polis for being “the biggest barrier” to passing this simple worker protection law. Watch the video below!

Recently, President Trump fired the head of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Jennifer Abruzzo. The NLRB is appointed by the president to act as a fair and unbiased monitor of both unions and companies. Trump’s actions speak to an attempt to dismantle structures that have protected working people’s rights for decades. Please use the button below to sign a petition condemning his actions:
Here’s why the NLRB is so important. In 2023, during contract bargaining, the management of WellPower committed several unfair labor practices (ULP) prompting your union to file ULP charges that the NLRB reviewed and ruled in our favor.
The company will now be required not to commit those or other ULPs, they will have to do a training for all managers on the rights of workers to organize their union, and they will be required to post the below notice.
Act now to ensure that we continue to have a body to seek justice and fairness in the workplace. Sign the petition condemning the firing of the head of the NLRB.

Last year, System 1, one of the cleaning companies under our Master Contract signed our new agreement to let these janitors that we fought hard to WIN!
Now, System 1 is REFUSING to pay our janitors the wage increases that they previously agreed to.This is WRONG, and it is unfair to the janitors who have showed up every day and done the jobs outlined in their contract.
Please be on the lookout for future actions at this building, and stand with Denver’s hard working janitors in their fight for what was promised to them.

Last month, we delivered a delegation letter to Flik management demanding they address three major issues that Flik members have been facing.
First, we have seen repeated delays in processing vacation IRFs, leaving many of us uncertain about how much vacation time we have. Vacation time is not a privilege; it is a right we have earned in our contract, and the company’s failure to process requests promptly creates unnecessary stress on all of us.
Secondly, we highlighted the ongoing issue of job openings not being properly posted, which often prevents qualified employees from accessing opportunities for advancement. We believe that transparency in job postings is essential to ensuring fairness and growth at Flik.
Lastly, we are demanding a fundamental level of respect and dignity in the workplace. We work hard every day to keep the airport running, yet we continue to face treatment that does not reflect the dedication and professionalism we bring to our jobs.
We will not accept being ignored, disrespected, or treated as disposable. By standing united, we are showing Flik the power of our union!
Stay tuned for more updates!
This month, we stood united and delivered a letter to Metropolitan management demanding respect for our rights as workers and as a union.
We cannot ignore the way management’s
actions—or lack of action—have affected us, our colleagues, and our families.
We are demanding that management address the lack of communication with the members on the worksite, ignoring information requests, and the ongoing issues regarding communication and transparency.
By standing united we showed Metropolitan our collective strength as a union and we will not stop fighting until every worker that the airport is protected and respected!
Stay tuned for more updates and o haga clic aquí to read the letter we delivered to management!

Everyone has a right to healthcare so that our families and communities can thrive. Medicaid is the largest health insurance program in the country, providing health care to nearly 80 million people, and has the support of 77% of Americans.
It covers one in five Americans, including kids, moms, seniors, people of color, rural Americans, and people with disabilities.
Cuts to Medicaid would hurt our workers, their patients, and our communities. That’s why we are joining the Center for Health Progress for a major rally on April 16 at 12:00 PM at our Capitol, and we have an opportunity to show up in force as a strong coalition!
This is our fight. Medicaid cuts mean more uncompensated care, more strain on healthcare workers, loss of union jobs and worse outcomes for everyone. This is one way to take a stand against greed and hate–and demand better for ourselves and our communities.
Trump, Republicans in Congress, and greedy billionaires have announced plans to give trillions in tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans and cut $2.5 trillion from the federal budget over 10 years.
They’ve been crystal clear that slashing Medicaid is critical to their ability to meet this goal.
Politicians are trying to divide us by blaming these communities for rising costs, when it’s billionaires and corporations who are putting profits over people.
This month, Colorado Care workers went to DC to tell congress what saving Medicaid means to thousands of workers and clients in Colorado.
Share our post on social media and tell congress “HANDS OFF MEDICAID!”
We will not stand by and let them strip healthcare from millions of people to give tax cuts to the richest Americans.
We are still bargaining with Management and we are demanding management restore our pre-merger employment benefits. We are citing laws to retain the status quo of our employment before we continue to bargain our contract.
Our internal union organizers had to reschedule our planned meet and greet so be on the lookout for a message with more information from Keith.
If you have any questions/concerns please reach out to any members from your bargaining team and/or the internal organizers.
Huge News!
