Last week, SEIU members from across the country met in Los Angeles to demand quality patient care and a stronger voice at the table with Kaiser Permanente.
SEIU Local 105 members showed their support throughout the region by wearing “Patients First” stickers to work on the first day of bargaining. You sent a strong message to KP that we’re ready to stand in solidarity and take action!
BARGAINING UPDATE
In our first bargaining session, we worked on exploring our joint interests in the areas of:
- Work of the Future
- Commitment to Re-Build & Renew the Partnership
- High Quality Patient Care & Operational Effectiveness
The next bargaining session will take place May 28th-29th, and workers will be going to the table with the following significant demands:
- Equity for the Regions Outside California (ROC), so Colorado’s workers can reach the same cost of living raises and pension multiplier as California
- Better job security and protection, particularly around outsourcing and automation
- A longer-term agreement, a five-year contract that protects our benefits
PRIMARY CARE FIGHTBACK
Another set of sessions with management were held last week discussing staffing changes in Primary Care.
What was covered in these sessions:
- Toolkits that employees will need for all three buckets of work.
- Work specific to LPNs in Convenience Care.
