ACTUALIZACIÓN DE NEGOCIACIÓN PARA LOS CONTRACTO MAESTRO

Juntos, demostramos nuestra fuerza en nuestras dos primeras sesiones de negociación con los contratistas de limpieza para nuestro nuevo Contrato Maestro.
El lunes cientos de janitors, políticos, y aliados de la comunidad marchamos en el centro para enviar un mensaje claro a los contratistas y la industria: Estamos unidos y listos para hacer lo que sea necesario para lograr un contrato sólido con salarios equitativos, mejores cargas de trabajo y condiciones laborales más seguras para los janitors y nuestras familias.
Ese fue el mensaje que llevamos a los contratistas cuando nos sentamos a negociar los dos últimos días. Hablamos sobre el alto costo de vida en nuestras comunidades, las sobrecargas de trabajo y las reasignaciones de nuestros miembros de edificios que hemos estado escuchando de muchos de ustedes en nuestras visitas a edificios, y cómo nuestro trabajo es esencial para que nuestros edificios funcionen.
¿Sabes cuál fue la respuesta de las empresas de limpieza? ¡Nos mandaron el mensaje que no están de acuerdo!
¡Así es! Nos dijeron que la economía está dañando el negocio de las empresas de limpieza. Dijeron que sus preocupaciones más importantes son los contratos, y los propietarios de los edificios y administradores de propiedades que firman sus contratos. Comunicaron que ellos son los que están sufriendo y que no entienden, los problemas de sobre carga de trabajo en los edificios. Ni siquiera comentaron lo importante que somos nosotros – los janitors que hacen el trabajo.
Dejamos claras nuestras prioridades: mejoramientos en nuestro lugar de trabajo, dignidad y justicia para los janitors. Los ejecutivos de limpieza nos han dado su prioridad: más ganancias.
Estamos cansados de que nos traten como si somos invisibles y que nos falten el respeto. Si queremos ganar un contrato digno y justo, debemos seguir unidos y tomar acción para que las empresas de limpieza escuchen nuestras voces. ¡Ahora es el tiempo!
¡ES HORA DE TOMAR ACCIÓN!
En las próximas semanas, seguiremos visitando edificios con organizadores para asegurarnos que los contratistas conozcan la realidad de la sobre carga de trabajo, y la falta de respeto que siguen teniendo hacia nosotros. Estas realidades las llevaremos directamente a la mesa de negociaciones en la próxima fecha, el 8 de julio, cuando nos reuniremos de nuevo con los contratistas.
¡También tenemos que MOSTRAR NUESTRA fuerza y solidaridad! Únase a nosotros antes de su turno, durante sus descansos o después de su turno para obtener una playera morada, stickers otros materiales morados para demostrar nuestro poder en el trabajo. Desde Downtown hasta DTC, desde Denver West y Boulder hasta Cherry Creek, vamos a mostrarles a los patrones un mar morado, listos para ganar un contrato sólido para nuestras familias!

MASTER CONTRACT BARGAINING UPDATE
SEIU Local 105 Master Contract Janitors,
Together, we showed up strong to our first two bargaining sessions with the cleaning contractors for our new Master Contract.
On Monday, the first day of bargaining, hundreds of janitors, elected officials, and community supporters marched downtown to send a clear message to the contractors and the industry: We are united and ready to do what it takes to win a strong contract with equitable wages, better workloads, and safer working conditions for janitors and our families.
That was the message we brought to the contractors when we sat down for negotiations the past two days. We talked about the rising cost of living in our community, the excessive workloads and building reassignments we heard from so many of you in our bargaining surveys and building visits, and how our work is essential to making our buildings run.
Do you know what the cleaning companies’ response was? They do not agree!
That’s right. They told us that the economy is hurting the cleaning companies’ business. They said their most important concerns are their contracts and the building owners and property managers signing them. Not only that, but they didn’t even comment on how essential we are – the janitors who do the work and keep their business running.
We made our priorities clear: better lives and justice for janitors. The cleaning executives have given us their priority: more profits.
We are tired of being treated as invisible and disrespected. If we want to win a strong contract, we must continue to stand united and take action so that the cleaning companies hear our voices. Now is the time!
IT’S TIME TO TAKE ACTION!
In the weeks leading up to our next negotiations, we will visit buildings with organizers to gather your stories of excessive workload, which we will bring directly to the bargaining table at the next negotiation date, July 8th.
We also have to SHOW OUR UNITY by wearing purple! Join us before your shift, during your breaks, or after your shift to get a purple shirt, stickers, or other purple materials to display at work. From Denver to DTC, Denver West, and Boulder to Cherry Creek, we will show the bosses a sea of purple, ready to win a strong contract for our families.
